When twelve-year-old JJ Somerled runs away from an abusive foster mother (Cathy Moriarty), he takes his keyboard and makes a new home in Central Park. There, he discovers a world ruled by Harvey Keitel’s frightening eccentric “The Guardian” and finds an unlikely chance at family with a couple (Kathleen Turner and Danny Aiello) carrying their own dark secret.
