After losing her father, Annalisse Vellum (Tiffani-Amber Thiessen) and her mother Laura (Melinda Culea) move back to Laura’s hometown of White Cliffs, Maine. They rent an old mansion complete with an historic lighthouse on the town’s coastal cliffs from the town’s mayor, Clay Roff (Tim Matheson). Soon after, Annalisse begins having terrifying visions of a woman falling from the nearby cliffs and a girl watching from the upper windows. Her mother dismisses it as grief over her father’s recent death. But the girl is real.
Clay Roff’s daughter, Mary(Erika Flores), has been trapped in the old mansion since her death, unable to cross over until the truth about her death is told. When Annalisse settles into Mary’s old room, she discovers evocative paintings of a young man on the walls. The young man is Johnny (Channon Roe), Mary’s boyfriend at the time of her death which everyone thinks was an unfortunate accident. But Mary reveals herself to Annalisse, convincing her that she was murdered and the killer is closer than anyone suspects, including Clay’s new wife Danielle (Kelly Rutherford). To free her unlikely friend, Annalisse must unravel the secrets the living have worked so hard to keep buried.
